Nahate is not just a project, it’s a co-authorship
“This story started with a specific task for the designer”
says Yana Svetlova.
But the cooperation grew into something new into co-authorship. With Evgenia Makeeva , the founder of the project, we could create a unique image of the restaurant. It was an exceptional case of teamwork that required us to dive deep into the details and every phase of the process. Zhenya conquered me with her bold ideas.
Although NAHATÉ Dubai is a restaurant, that means a commercial entity, our main goal was to create a luxurious place with “a residential feel”.
The project has deliberately used many ‘domestic’ materials and elements:
marquetry and veneers, natural stone, handmade carpets, silk drapes, as well as various textile decors for upholstery and accessories. We paid a special attention to the walls as the main visual platform to reflect the concept.
Here we managed to show all the beauty of hand-painted and embroidered decorations designed by Yana Svetlova wallcoverings. The images of totem animals settled on the walls of the differentspaces, creating a completely different mood in each zone and working with different color palettes.
Every detail in the design reflects the philosophy of the restaurant’s slogan – More than home. There are excellent cuisine, impeccable service and unique visuals.
